Target practise is a site-specific installation that combines Popular Sport with Pop Art. I have placed two vinyl archery targets on the two glass backboards located in the north gymnasium of Hart House College. The targets are of the bulls eye type and are yellow, red, black, blue and white in colour. I have located the yellow centre of each target in the middle of the basketball backboards. It is my intention to help the players take aim and score. Target Practise tips its hat to and acknowledges artists Jasper Johns, Kenneth Nolan, Jonathan Borofsky and Jeff Koons.
Lee Goreas builds humorous installations that question personal identity in the context of institutional and popular culture. He has exhibited widely across Canada as well in the United States and Europe. He is represented by Robert Birch Gallery.
