slippage continues my interest in the idea of absence; items left behind from an action or activity. These airless environments might reference an occupation or event, but the action is left abandoned.
Susan Schelle is a graduate of Sheridan College, in Oakville, Ontario and is a professor at the University of Toronto's Department of Visual Studies. She completed the public commission Jetstream in collaboration with Mark Gomes at Pearson International Airport, Terminal One, Greeters Hall (2004) and recently exhibited at Cenci Gallery Rome, Italy (2004). Her work is in the collection of the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa and in the collection of the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography, Ottawa. She is represented by Leo Kamen Gallery in Toronto.
